Sisters appears to be straight out of the old west. They have continued to preserve their downtown history from lumber-production while also being known for its world-class destination resort and residential community, Black Butte Ranch. Over the last few decades, the retail area has been transformed and is recognized as a unique place to shop with its many specialty stores and galleries. The old mill site north of town is now an industrial park with a number of commercial businesses and light industries. Sisters is a family-friendly community that enjoys more elbow room and mountain vistas.
