Two primary methods of borrowing money from your property, but which will work better in 2025?

 
 

As we head into 2025, mortgage rates will likely stay in the 6.5% to 7% range. That’s a little better than last year’s peak selling season but still higher than what we saw earlier this year. In Central Oregon, the two key factors shaping the market will be buyer demand and inventory levels. Over the next few weeks, I think we’ll see inventory drop off pretty sharply as year-end listings expire and many sellers hold off until spring to relist. This means transaction volume will probably slow down for a bit until we get into the rhythm of the new year. I'm hoping for a strong reset and an active spring market, but there's not enough data to predict the future quite yet! - Greg
