Recent headlines and news in Central Oregon are discussing our large uptick in avg prices after July statistics came out. I've had a few clients reach out in response and have also overheard discussions while I've been out and about shopping. Do keep in mind that radio hosts and journalists don't usually have the whole picture or same amount of insight as a real estate professional; As mentioned last week, we have seen a large increase in higher priced and $1mill+ homes selling, while there has been less volume in lower price points. This will skew the numbers a bit and the situation is most likely due to the average home owner in Bend not wanting to trade out their interest rate.. Sales have dropped off a bit, which seems a bit early for the seasonal swing. Homes are still selling, but now taking a little longer to move. Those with large equity or ability to pay cash are winning in the buyer market right now. Sellers that are willing to read the market and be aggressive are still taking advantage of our current seller's market and starting their next chapters. Let me know what I can do to help! - Greg
